In an effort to prevent more families and communities having to face the loss of a loved one, the Centre for Road Safety, in collaboration with teams across the Transport cluster, NSW Police Force, Department of Education and other road safety partners recruited more than 330 volunteers to attend a media event at Bankwest Stadium on Thursday 5 December to represent the number of lives lost to date last year, and the associated human cost. Volunteers dressed in yellow shirts to represent fatalities on regional roads, while those in black shirts represented metropolitan road fatalities.
