While some of us enjoyed the time off for the holiday season, work didn’t stop across the Transport cluster with many of our people working tirelessly to keep our transport network moving.
Teams from across the state put in an extraordinary effort to support communities in responding to the bushfire crisis. This effort is ongoing, and we’re very proud of the way our people on the ground are working tirelessly to support our customers and reduce the safety risks for our community under exceptionally challenging conditions.
These past couple of months also saw major milestones for some of our biggest projects, including the opening of Sydney’s new light rail from Circular Quay to Randwick and the Grafton Bridge, the closure of the closure of the T6 Carlingford rail line to make way for Parramatta Light Rail and the completion of tunnelling for Sydney’s newest metro railway tunnels.
We also delivered a number of safety initiatives for roads and public transport and helped deliver some amazing celebrations including New Year’s Eve on the Cahill Expressway and the Elvis Express service to take enthusiasts to Parkes for the annual Elvis Festival.
