North Sydney Depot won the State Transit's 14th Annual Christmas Bus Competition for best decorated bus. Kai, a patient of Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick and official judge of the competition, said North Sydney Depot won because of its tinsel. All eight Sydney depots – Waverley, Port Botany, Randwick, Ryde, Willoughby, North Sydney, Brookvale and Mona Vale – participated in the annual competition.
