Treemendous effort
The Parramatta Light Rail program has strengthened its commitment to greening Parramatta, increasing the number of mature fig trees to be planted in its works program to five. The mature fig trees and around 76 fig tree cuttings will be planted to replace a cluster of seven fig trees to be removed from the Cumberland Precinct and three at Robin Thomas Reserve for light rail works. The mature trees and cuttings from the fig trees will be propagated (nurtured and grown) and re-planted along the alignment over the next few years, once they reach approximately one metre in height.
