Rail Fire and Emergency Response carry out routine testing and running of the Hi Rail Fire truck. It can go anywhere in the Rail network and is used in rescues, pumping out flood water and informing other Emergency Services of incidents in the underground tunnels. It was used after the Bushfires went through the Blue Mountains earlier this year.
