How to use the Transport Narrative

You will rarely have the space or time to use the entire narrative in a communication piece. But you can draw on parts of the narrative or use the resources on this site to develop best practice communication techniques.

Follow these simple steps

  1. Check out the dos and don'ts and these practical examples of how to use the narrative in different communications.

  2. Use the relevant narrative for your audience:
  3. Integrate as much of the narrative structure or key messaging as possible into your communication piece.

  4. Now create the core of your communication piece by 1) proving what we've already delivered and 2) explaining what we will deliver in the future (5-8 years). You can do this by creating your own proof points from information on the Future Transport or MySydney websites and writing them using best practice principles.

  5. Check your work with the media team or find out who the relevant subject matter experts are.
