Safe Work Month 2019 - A message from Steve Jones

It doesn’t matter what role you do in our business, safety starts with you.

October is Safe Work Month and we’re showing our commitment as an organisation to the safety of all our workers, including our industry partners, and the safety of our customers and our communities. We’re also asking all our people from across the Transport cluster to make the pledge to become safety champions in the work you do every day.

I’ll be out and about this month with our Pledge Roadshow, talking to teams about some of our most critical work-related risks, and the controls we have in place to manage them. I’ll also be asking teams to take the pledge to be a safety champion and am interested to hear what action they’re going to take.

I encourage you to get involved in this Safe Work Month by creating a pledge poster and joining in the activities that are happening across the cluster throughout the month.

I know what my pledge to become a safety champion is and you can see it below. What’s yours? I look forward to seeing them.

Steve Jones

A/Deputy Secretary, Safety, Environment and Regulation
