Already delivered…

Public transport

• Delivered a new Northern Beaches bus network with more than 3,200 additional weekly services, including more than 2,000 new weekly B-Line services to help alleviate congestion on our roads and provide you with an alternative to the car.
• Provided new ‘turn up and go’ double-deck bus services for the Northern Beaches.
• Doubled the frequency of trains between Epping and Central via Strathfield on weekends, with an extra two services every hour, or a train every 15 minutes on the T1 Northern Line to provide you with more choice.
  
  

Roads

• Upgrading NSW highways, including Pacific and Princes Highways to improve safety, reduce travel times, and increase the load capacity so heavy trucks can bypass local roads.

Delivering on the plan (future)

Public transport

• The new metro rail system is Australia’s biggest public transport project. In 2024, Sydney will have 31 metro stations and a 66km new metro rail system.
• This year, you’ll be able to get to and from Chatswood from Sydney’s North West by jumping on the new metro train system. You won’t need a timetable – just turn up and go, with a train every four minutes in the peak.
• In 2024, the metro train system will run from Sydney’s booming North West region, under Sydney Harbour, through new underground stations in the CBD and beyond to the South West.

Roads

• We’re building a better connected motorway network across and under Sydney that will ease congestion and reduce the number of heavy vehicles on local streets.
• Once completed, you will be able to use a new 9km tunnel to travel between the M1 Pacific Highway at Wahroonga to the M2 motorway at West Pennant Hills. The new tunnel will bypass up to 21 sets of traffic lights and remove around 5,000 trucks off Pennant Hills Road each day.
