Hi Graduates,

Welcome to the new Entry Level Talent Programs site, more importantly, the Graduate Program page. I've created this page so I can keep in contact with you all more regularly, regardless of where you are located across the state!

I'll update this page weekly with program updates, upcoming events and relevant documents. I've also added a discussion board where you can post questions and have them answered by me or your fellow Graduates.

If you have any feedback on how I've set up the Graduate Program page, please feel free to get in contact with us.

  • Given the amount of public holidays coming up in April. Are graduates within their first placement able to take annual leave days?

Dimitrios Haralampidis asked about 5 years ago

Yes, you are. As above, make sure you have leave available. If you do, please ensure you speak to your placement manager to make sure you're able to be released on those days.

  • Regarding annual leave. Are graduates within their first placement (first 6 months of employment) able to take annual leave?

Dimitrios Haralampidis asked about 5 years ago

You sure are! As long as you have annual leave available. You can check your available leave via Equip.

Please make sure you read through the leave procedure for how to apply for leave.

  • Update on pay increase: The pay increase comes into effect the first pay period commencing after July 1. So the 2.5% pay increase will come into effect on the next pay period. Also, PAYG summaries are posted to EQUIP under self service tab, they have not been published yet.

  • I have a question about time sheets. If I am taking 1/2 Day Special Leave and 1/2 Day Accrued Flex, how do I show that on my time sheet? My understanding is that we can only use one code at a time. Am I correct in assuming we use the code "HAF" and input the hours approved for 1/2 Day Special Leave as hours worked?

Bec Peacock asked almost 6 years ago

    Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for posting a question on Accrued Flex and Special Leave.

In relation to recording accrued flex and special leave of your timesheet, you are correct in recording your accrued flex, as the timesheet does not allow you to enter two different leave codes on the form.

The reason for this is to ensure accurate recording of your accrued flex that has been used.

Then record the special leave as normal working hours (e.g. 12:00 to 15:30 pm) and make a note in the ‘Comment’ column (e.g. Special Leave Graduation) saying you took a half day of special leave. Special leave is processed through a paper based “leave of Absence’ form and sent to TalentPrograms@transport.nsw.gov.au prior to the day.

    Thanks

    Mary
