Putting a stop to violence against women

Saturday, 25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, also known as White Ribbon Day.

On this day, wearing a White Ribbon is symbolic of your pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women. The rates of domestic violence in Australia remain high. One in three women experience physical violence in their lifetime and on average, one woman each week is killed by her partner or former partner.

This year, White Ribbon Australia has created a STOP Kit , an information pack explaining violence against women, how to spot it, how to be supportive if you witness violence, and where to seek help.

At Transport, we’re committed to building a workforce where all our people feel safe and supported; and we ask that you stand up, speak out and act to prevent violence in our workplace and the community.

You’ll see our timetable volunteers in their distinctive pink shirts wearing white ribbons around the transport network to show our support to customers and the community.
