TfNSW graduates take on Smart Seeds

Smart Seeds, a global innovation program sponsored by the Transport cluster, celebrated the success of young innovators on Wednesday 2 May at the 2018 Showcase Event. This year, Transport submitted 3 challenges and sponsored 11 young professionals to participate.

The Showcase gave 7 teams the opportunity to pitch an innovative solution to a complex infrastructure challenge. The event attracted more than 100 industry leaders, eager to hear from the participants. Two awards were presented on the night – Judges Choice and People’s Choice.

Judges Choice was awarded to a Transport challenge, The Growth Project, a solution which repurposed Transport assets to make green social spaces whilst upskilling the homeless. We would like to congratulate our two Transport graduates, Ella Somerset and Bianca Lao who were members of this team.

People’s Choice was awarded to BuySmart, an intuitive, searchable application which brings together all relevant contract, product, maintenance and service information about the goods and materials in a home by creating a digital contract. We would like to congratulate our two Transport graduates, Janinda Perera and Meghan Holden who were members of this team.

Well done to all the teams for their entertaining pitches and out-of-the-box solutions!
