PM opens next stage of Pacific Highway upgrade

A BIG congratulations to Roads and Maritime for another milestone moment in the Pacific Highway upgrade project.

On Monday, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull opened 14km of new, divided highway progressively opening to traffic, between Kempsey to Kundabung. The Prime Minister said the Pacific Highway was a centrepiece of the Australian Government’s investment in regional road infrastructure.

This upgrade also sees two new rest areas, a new heavy vehicle inspection facility, and a new interchange in the vicinity of Kundabung Road and Rodeo Drive.

When the upgrade is completed in 2020, motorists will save around two and a half hours in travel time.
