Supporting your people to ‘own’ their careers

A new interactive e-guide and booklet called ‘It’s your career. Own it.’ is available for everyone in the Transport cluster. It’s all about empowering our people to make sure their careers are on the right path.

This initiative is in response to the 2016 People Matter Employee Survey results which told us 76% of employees have a strong desire to develop their career, but only 45% of employees are satisfied with the opportunities available.

Many of our people also need more regular opportunities for coaching and feedback, with only 58% telling us they have scheduled feedback conversations with their manager throughout the year.

What do you need to do?

While ‘It’s your career. Own it.’ is about encouraging our people to take a more active role in developing their careers, it is your responsibility to support them. Great leadership is about nurturing talent and developing people.
