Maritime staff were ready to co-ordinate the water evacuation of Dunbogan Beach if the fire closed off road access to Dunbogan. They liaised with our local Volunteer Marine Rescue units, as well as oysters farmers and pro fisherman to work out vessels available, evacuation points and safe landings. The police estimated up to 200 people might need to be evacuated.
