42 years since the Granville Train Disaster

Earlier this month, Sydney Trains held a heartfelt memorial service to recognise 42 years since the Granville Train Disaster. On 18 January 1977, a commuter train derailed and struck the Bold Street Bridge near Granville station just after 8am. It remains Australia’s worst rail tragedy, with 84 victims and 213 people injured.
