Shaping the future of Transport across regional NSW

The community consultation process for the Future Transport Strategy has officially launched, with a special focus on regional and rural NSW.

Across May, the Future Transport team will be asking for feedback from regional customers on everything from the infrastructure we need, through to the vehicles of the future, including driverless technology and on-demand services.

It’s all about getting out and listening to our communities across NSW, from Wauchope to Cobar and Griffith to Inverell.

As part of the process, the Future Transport website has been updated with a whole range of engaging tools and features, including an interactive survey, a project map customisable by region and infographics on three key transport themes: Connecting regional communities, transport megatrends and smart vehicles.
The focus will be on regional and rural communities during May, with consultation in metropolitan areas to follow during June.

The insights we gather throughout the process will feed in to the development of the draft Future Transport Strategy, to be released later in the year.

Get involved!

We are seeking input into the strategy from the community, customers and industry partners, but it’s also really important that we hear from you, our people right across the Transport cluster! There are a few ways you can get involved in the process:

  1. Future Transport website
Interact with the new features on the website Link to external site – take the survey, read up on trends and opportunities and check out the transport projects in your local area that are planned, in progress and complete.
  2. Discussion Forums
A great feature of our Shape the Future Link to external site employee collaboration site is the ability to take part in online discussions with our leaders and subject matter experts. Keep checking in to see what's new on the site.
  3. Morning teas in Grafton and Dubbo
Future Transport morning teas will be held at offices in Grafton (Wednesday 17 May) and Dubbo (Thursday 25 May) to update staff on the Future Transport Strategy and discuss what the future of transport could look like in these areas.

All locally based staff from Roads and Maritime, Transport for NSW and NSW TrainLink are invited to attend to learn more about Future Transport.
