On a wing and a prayer

Taronga Zoo and the NSW Water Police were called in to help when a juvenile black-browed albatross, affectionately known as Victor, hitched a ride on one of our new Sydney Harbour ferries - the Victor Chang - as it made its way up from the ship builder's yard in Hobart.

It was just another day at the office for Director of Environment, Louise Sureda (in orange) as she went 5km out to sea with the rescue crew to see Victor's safe release, along with a Lord Howe Petrel that had been rescued from an oil slick. There was a cheer as he flew off above the spectacle of several whales spouting.
