Last week, thirteen of our people from across the Transport cluster graduated from our Aboriginal Career Development Mentoring Program at a ceremony held at the historic Mint in Macquarie Street, Sydney.
The Aboriginal Career Development Mentoring Program is designed to provide a career pathway for progression for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island staff across the Transport Cluster and encourage collaboration across agencies, levels and cultures. The benefits are two-fold – it’s an opportunity for mentees to learn and be guided by a leader within Transport and for the mentor to learn more about Aboriginal culture.
Natalie Spalding, an Area Customer Service Manager with NSW TrainLink and recent graduate of the program said the program has helped her map out her career goals.
“The big thing for me is my mentor helped to define my career pathway and set goals. I now have a clear direction for the next 5 and 10 years and know the studies I need to take.”
