Pets of Transport - Meet Mickey!

Mickey is young and full of energy. He likes to race around and to keep pace with his owner Dave Hurst! Pets of Transport chase after them for the latest scoop.

Pets of Transport: Hello Mickey. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to chat with us. To begin, what does your human do at Transport?

Mickey: My human is Dave and he’s a Senior Customer Liaison Officer in the Customer Relations & Government Services department. Dave works to resolve customer complaints about their transport service, including timetable concerns and issues using the transportnsw.info website.

He tells me he has to work to be able to buy my food and chicken treats. But I’m not sure about this; I know my food comes from the bag in the forbidden cupboard, and the chicken comes from the fridge. I am a cat after all!

PoT: You sure are! What’s the strangest or most interesting thing your human does?

M: He races triathlons! So that’s lots of training every day. He is in and out the door all the time, often for hours. This can have an impact on my meal times so I let him know by nuzzling right up to him and purring in his face! I also try and emulate his racing by doing my own laps around the house, I am super-fast too!

PoT: I bet! What do you get up to while your human is at work?

M: Exploring! Playing with my toys! Eating! Practicing to be super cute! Playing with my big sister cat (but she calls it “jumping on her”)! I also have to practice getting from one end of the house to the other as quickly as I can, even when I slide on the floorboards! Then I get really tired, so I take a quick nap, and guess what? Then I have all the energy to run around again! I also steal my sister cat’s food, because she eats so slowly!

PoT: Thanks for dropping in, Mickey! Whew! You are a bundle of energy.

M: Vrooom!
