Keeping you in the Loop Issue #57 #lastissue

It is an honour and a privilege to be writing the last official Loop, we got up to 57 issues. Thank you for indulging our writing styles and in some cases (mine in particular) odd bod ways trying to be entertaining….I did say trying!

So here’s is the update from the last (literally) leadership meeting.

Did you know that we have a Transport Library

  • TRANSPORT LIBRARY

Did you know that we have a Transport Library. If you think your research work will take more than 15 minutes check out the services available free of charge from the library. For more info see the attachments to the right. This is a really valuable service to have to know about and be able to access to in our current cost conscious environment.

  • All Aboard! The blog is leaving the station.

A big thanks to Tony Hanrahan and Mark Newman for organising and hosting Alastair and his team last week, delivering an awesome simulator experience. Alastair writes a blog each week that goes out to the whole IT group and the senior leadership team including Elizabeth Mildwater.

This was his feature story this week!

"On Wednesday, the BCSD SLT went out to Petersham to learn how to drive trains in the full motion simulator. While Gai "Runaway Train" Ferrington will need a bit of work to make up for the disappointed customers at Wynyard that she blew past, Manish "The Rocket" Bhatia was able to take the simulator to places it had never gone before... hopefully the damage isn't too serious".

  • RTO RE REGISTRATION

This process has now commenced and will be a priority in the next few months for member of the Learning and Development and Engineering and operations team

  • PULSE SURVEY

Each month a pulse survey is sent out as a way of capturing how our colleagues in OD are feeling. Given the cultural climate we are currently in, now more than ever, the Leadership team appreciates your comments and honesty. The feedback you provide is valued and read in detail by the Leadership team with an intent to cascade to the broader OD team at the OD All ins. As you all know the last OD All in day was re purposed as a team day and this cascade did not occur. This was picked up in a comment provided in last months pulse, questioning where results went and how they are shared.

The key measure coming out of the Pulse survey is a Net Promoter Score (NPS), a numerical measure of how likely you are to recommend OD as a place to work. As you can see, across the course of the year we have averaged a score of 5. Your comments have shown us the challenges and opportunities for improvement within OD, and Paul will take our results to the incoming Executive Director, and ensure that a mechanism for capturing feedback is maintained. The Leadership team acknowledges that goal setting, diversity, inclusion, wellness, workplace design, and inspiring leadership contributes to an engaging employee environment, and this will remain the focus.

  • SEE YOU SOON!!

Linda Harvey and Stacey Edmonds will both be joining the Strategy and Transformation function in People and Corporate Services function. A massive thank you from all of us for the contribution made to OD. You will be missed!!!

With the shift toward a People and Culture function today and the dissolving of the OD, Paul and I will share with Kirsten some of the practices to communicate and engage used by the leadership team to date for her to consider as she sets up the function for the future.

Have a wonderful weekend everybody.
