Showing people that whether you’re building a road, driving a train, designing a new app or train line – we’re all Transport.
Recognising and celebrating our people, acknowledging our contributions and getting everyone excited about the future we’re creating.
Making everyone feel that what they do is important and helping them understand how and where they fit in the organisation.
Why now?
I’m Transport builds on the strategy we outlined in our 10 Year Blueprint.
Through COVID-19 and the bushfires we’ve seen some great examples of new ways of working. Our people have been tackling problems by working together across different parts of the organisation. The stories we’ve seen show we’re on the right track in becoming one united organisation.
I’m Transport amplifies all the great work that’s happening by sharing your stories.
What will people see?
You’ll start seeing different aspects of I’m Transport over the next few months.
Everyone will receive an invite from the Secretary to a Live Conversation series. The invite includes a video that captures the spirit of what I’m Transport is all about.
The Live Conversation series aims to:
Create a sense of unity by engaging everyone across Transport in a conversation for the first time
Take a people-first approach, with our people showing us stories of how they’re delivering for customers and communities
Help people understand our culture / behaviours / new ways of working.
Following the events there’ll be more ways for people to get involved such as submitting ideas for how we can do things differently in the future, learning more about the broader organisation and sharing stories.
What’s your role?
As a leader, you play a critical role in creating a great culture, helping people to understand where they fit in our organisation and working together with your colleagues across the business.
We want our people to feel that the work they do is important and know that we are working together across Transport – breaking down the boundaries between divisions, modes, agencies – for our customers and the community.
Get your teams involved by:
Encouraging and facilitating your people to take part in at least one of the Live Conversation events (and/or giving them time to watch the replays)
Following up with a conversation about the events in your regular meetings. What did they think? What does it mean for your team?
Supporting and promoting ways for people to get involved with I’m Transport – from sharing stories to pitching their innovative ideas on how we can improve things in the future.
