Location: International Convention Centre (ICC)

We asked some talent participants who attended the Talent Forum last year to tell us why we should come this year. Read on for their reflections on last year’s forum and why you need to come this year!

  • What was last year’s Talent Forum about?

“The theme at the 2017 Talent Forum was Connect for Success: Building Business Relationships.

The forum focused on developing soft skills such as communication skills, including how to build professional networks and maintain stakeholder relationships.

We were fortunate to have two speakers from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) come in to teach us all about how to have purposeful and effective conversations. It was not your typical sit-down and listen workshop. Instead, it was very interactive, engaging and hilarious.

Fun fact: one of the NIDA speakers was Nicola Parry, a regular from Thank God You’re Here

One of the best parts of the day is the opportunity to network with talent participants from across the state and senior leaders. It was a fun-filled day!”

  • Why should talent participants attend this year?

* “Opportunity to network with other talent participants

* To develop professional skills

* To learn the latest program updates for the year ahead

* Gain professional insight from Transport leaders in attendance”

Overall, I would say the most relevant takeaway from the forum is the networking component; making a few new friends and adding them to your social network is important, because who knows, you may run into each other in future placements and may need to even work together!“
