Wednesday 24 June 2020 - Consultation opens on a proposal about our corporate functions

We have come so far on the Evolving Transport journey since we began last year. As we continue on this journey, there are opportunities for us to deliver our services in a new way – by focusing less on individual modes and more on seamless end-to-end journeys and places.

Today we released a proposal to design an integrated service delivery model for our corporate functions.

To do this, we are proposing to include corporate functions from Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink into the Evolving Transport process:

  • Sydney Trains: Finance & Business Services, People & Corporate Affairs, SEQR
  • NSW TrainLink: People & Change, Communications, SEQR

The proposal does not include any frontline operations or service delivery functions in Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink.

What is the aim of this proposal?

This proposal is centred on designing ourselves in an integrated way to best deliver for our customers, in line with our Blueprint and Future Transport 2056 strategies. It would have clear benefits, such as having a consistent approach and ways of working for corporate functions, as well as career pathways and opportunities for development for our people.

If the proposal were to go ahead, the next steps would include employees in Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink becoming part of the Evolving Transport organisational design process.
