Meet Tony Eid, Chief Executive, State Transit

Tony Eid is joining the team at State Transit as Chief Executive.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I’m looking forward to learning all about how the bus network operates, meeting and engaging with the staff and our customers.

What’s your biggest career achievement to date?

There are a few I could mention, but the one I would like to call out is constructing and commissioning the Rail Operations Centre at Green Square. It’s a purpose built, high-tech centre that brings together all the day-to-day operations from every directorate, maintenance and customer management. It’s provided us with new ways of working and customer-centric decision making when responding to incidents or operating the rail network.

What was your last job?

My last role was in Sydney Trains. Executive Director, Future Network Delivery (FND).

FND manages the significant capital investment, program delivery and integration of critical transport infrastructure. This approach allows a single focus on key major projects to be delivered seamlessly with limited impact to our customers and the day-to-day operations. I led the team and worked very closely with other transport agencies such as Sydney Metro, RMS, STA and TfNSW to ensure strong collaboration and alignment.
