Meet Pete Church, Head of Rail Delivery, Infrastructure and Place

Pete’s ready to make a difference as our new Head of Rail Delivery.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

The people. There are a lot of folk out there who really want to make a difference and get frustrated at how complex we can make things. Hopefully, bringing all the rail people and projects into one place will help simplify and change the way things get done - for the better!

What’s your biggest career achievement to date?

Commissioning the first routes for the introduction of 125mph Tilting Trains in England, Wynyard Walk, a hat-trick in the Yorkshire League, or two 300 games (ten pin bowling) ... you decide.

What was your last job?

This one, sort of ... I was previously the ED for Rail Delivery, which was broadly similar to my new role, but we’ve now fitted in the missing signalling parts of the rail projects jigsaw. Outside of rail or transport, my last job was working as a ground steward at Headingley Cricket Ground.
