Get on board – Bus Safety Week 2017

Bus Safety Week will run from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 November to raise awareness for all road users about how to stay safe on and around buses and help reduce injuries and fatalities.

Crashes involving buses often result in more severe outcomes for other road users because of their size and weight. From 2012 to 2016, 29 people lost their lives and 474 people were seriously injured in bus crashes on NSW roads. These 29 fatalities included 13 pedestrians, two cyclists, eight drivers of other vehicles, three bus passengers, one passenger of other vehicle, a bus driver and a motorcyclist.
