Calling all film buffs, this international film festival is back and has a jam-packed program! With award winners and documentaries to cross-genre experiments, it’ll be hard to pick what to watch. Head to their website for the program guide, and if you’re planning several sessions or going with a group, look into getting their flexi-pass to save. You can get 10 sessions for $162.50 and if you are 24 and under, six sessions for $75!

Apollo 11 Exhibition with Museum of the Moon Markets | Powerhouse Museum | Starting 29 Jun

Apollo 11 commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing with over 200 objects. The exhibition explores this defining moment in history, its lasting impact on science, society and design, and the crucial role Australia played in transmitting the famous footage.

Key objects that were seminal for this historic moment will be on display, and you can participate in a virtual reality experience! Take part to see the moon landing from the unique perspective of the third astronaut Michael Collins, who remained aboard the Command Module. An interactive arcade game, scientific models and video footage also bring the mission to life!

In addition to this, there are coinciding events that you have access to through your ticket. General admission is $15 per adult, $8 concession and free for members and children (16yrs & under). Head over to the website for more details.

Winter Wonderland Wholefood Night Markets | The Grounds of Alexandria | 19 Jun

The Grounds of Alexandria is bringing you a night of a wholefood markets set amongst a winter wonderland. If you head down to the snow-filled arena, there will be a whole range of delicious foods to try out. You can give vegan s’mores a go and squeeze in a quick cardio workout by hopping on the smoothie bicycle to make your very own healthy smoothie.

There is a whole lot more to do, so head to the website for more details and nab tickets before they are sold out! There are two different sessions (one at 5:30pm and the other at 7:45pm), with tickets selling for $37.

Fantastic Race Sydney | Eddy Ave, Central Station | All of June

Think the "Amazing Race" meets "National Treasure" and *BAM*, you’re in the middle of the action when you play Fantastic Race Sydney. This is a totally unique and immersive experience with interactive clue-based adventure game, live-action mystery novel, intellectual obstacle course and self-guided tour.

Whale Watching | NSW Coast | June - July

It’s whale watching season again, so pack a picnic and head to the coast! During winter, the whales migrate from Antarctica to the warmer waters surrounding Queensland and put on a spectacle in their travels.

Check out these vantage points along NSWs coast to find a close spot and if you feel like splurging, you can treat yourself to a whale watching cruise in any of these areas. The morning is the best time to spot these magnificent creatures, just make sure to look for its spout or vertical spray!

Anh Do – The Happiest Refugee Live! | Wagga Wagga | 6 June - 7 June

Award winning comedian, Anh Do, has a long and interesting past. Before becoming popular in comedy, he had a bleak journey that started in Vietnam and led to arriving in Australia in a fishing boat. These stories are captured in his book, ‘The Happiest Refugee’, with this stage show combining stand-up comedy and his personal stories. For an absolutely inspirational night, go to the Civic Theatre website to buy tickets, starting from $59.90.

Planet X Retro Roller Disco | Planet X, Port Macquarie | 7 June onwards

Want to do something different this week? Take a step back into 1970s and go roller skating! Planet X is running a Roller Disco session every Friday night 6:30 – 9:30pm. They even have themed nights for Halloween, Beach Party, Michael Jackson and others. Grab some friends and head over for some disco music and lights on roller skates!

This June long weekend the Central Coast has once again organised the 2019 Harvest Festival Central Coast! Come celebrate the local produce from the region with local farms, factories and a quarry opening their gates for all those interested. Join tours, visit markets and go fruit and pecan picking! With plenty of other options, make sure you go to their website to check out the program! There is no entry fee - you will only be paying for what you buy and tours you choose to join.

Steel: Art Design Architecture | Wagga Wagga | Finishing 9 Jun

A ground-breaking exhibition in Wagga Wagga is exploring the innovative ways that steel is being used by artists, designers and architects in Australia in the 21st century. It shows a broad range of approaches to working with steel from fine hand-crafted jewellery to high-tech research facilities.

The differing artworks will make you consider the similarities between creative processes, problem solving and design thinking undertaken in the varying disciplines.

Who doesn’t like sinking their teeth into a good pie? If you like the sound of that, you will definitely have a great time at the PieFest, a celebration of all things pie! Expect a large range of pies for tasting, competitions, cooking demonstrations, entertainment and a whole lot more!

Tickets are available for $10 on the website now, and kids 15 years and under are free.
