Tottenham becomes first regional town in NSW to benefit from flexible transport trials

In an exciting first for Regional NSW, the small town of Tottenham is the first location to benefit from a new flexible transport trial.

It is hoped that this could be the start of a wider rollout to provide permanent flexible and tailored transport solutions across NSW.

The initiative, covered in this ABC report yesterday will run for six months with a weekly service between Tottenham and Dubbo.

As the report states this trial is 'the culmination of years of lobbying and work by community groups, the local council, and the state transport department.'

Sarina Sharp, a local resident said, "Words can't describe how I feel; it's going to change my life and many older people in the town."

The vehicle type allocated will vary depending on the number of passengers that have booked, with passengers travelling either by car or small bus. The service will offer air-conditioning, storage for cold products and other needs including wheelchairs and prams.
