Keeping you in the OD Loop Issue #50

RSPCA Cupcake Day

Well done team – OD raised $1,080.78 at last count. That is an amazing effort for such a worthy cause

A huge Thank You to Nectaria for organising such a wonderful event and to all of you who donated and bought in items in for fundraising. #youareawesome #dogsinthebuilding

Thanks to Laura Khalil and Ruth Overton for their help with setup and fundraising on the day.

Thanks to Linda and Stacey for baking the 2 cakes that were auctioned. Nina Ajaj and Janelle Dilger were the highest bidders.

Profiles of the 2 dogs that joined us at the morning tea and are looking for a happy home (together) are below:

Jess - 7 years and 3 months (Australian Kelpie X Beagle)

Skye - 11 years 3 months (Shetland Sheep Dog)

Some pics of the event

Safety Moment

Fiona attended a conference last week with Emergency Services and Medical practitioners and saw amazing simulation of a helicopter response to a medical emergency. This was all about the human factors piece and focussed on their whole ability exercise trust and have situational awareness individually and collectively. If you would like to know more, Fiona would love to chat about it with you.

OD Events Calendar

A number of members of our team have worked hard to develop the first iteration of the OD Events calendar for 17/18. This allows us to demonstrate the large amount of work we do to plan and deliver OD events and has now been shared with Elizabeth and the Agency HR Directors.

This is a great piece of work that will assist us to better plan and engage with our stakeholders. We will be further defining it in the coming weeks and will also add in our BaU services and projects into the same format - Manal will be leading this piece with Junalaine.

PMES results for OD

As you know, the results for PMES have been shared with the Executive over recent weeks. Now it’s our turn to unpack some of the detail of our results. Directors will shortly be receiving their team’s report and will be sharing the key themes and outcomes through your next team meeting.

OD Culture & Engagement Working Group - Call for Volunteers

This working group is a fortnightly huddle to work through initiatives, talk through information, test out ideas in supporting OD’s culture and engagement of our people - and have some fun along the way :).
Please let Sam or Steph P know if you are interested by email or come and have a chat so you can be included in the next meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for 14/9.

Work for the future state for People & Culture branch

As you know, the recruitment for the Executive Director People & Culture is underway. The HR and OD Leadership teams have started to come together to work through some of the practicalities of what Day 1 would look like. Over the next 6-8 weeks, we will be engaging with you to gather your thoughts and give you your chance to have your input. Stay tuned for more information to come.

OD Budget

We have now had more confirmation of our proposed budget for this financial year. Ketann and Linda are working with all of the Directors to finalise the budget allocation. Stay tuned for more information from your Director later in the week.

Tableau Update

James gave a demonstration of some of the amazing work that has been done with a number of teams to build a Tableau dashboard for some of our OD reporting.

The reporting that has been included in this phase is for:

  • Training Statistics
  • Training Evaluation
  • Talent Pipeline
  • PMO

This is a huge step forward for us to automate some of our reporting and make it accessible. We are still finalising some of the data/set-up but you will see more on this soon.

Thanks to all that have contributed to making this happen.

We are now starting to engage with other teams with OD to work out what data we should be looking at next. Radhika will be taking the reins on this now that James has moved on to a new project.

Transport Training Centre update

You may see some movement tomorrow at the Western End of Level 1, Petersham. We are doing a bit of a ‘desk shuffle’ to allow teams to work together more closely.

Some other achievements and notes:

  • White board paint has been refreshed in Jacaranda Room, Stacey’s Office, Fiona’s Office and the Lily Pily room (Linda’s old office) – this paint needs 7 days to dry so please do not use yet. We will let you know when you can start writing on them :)
  • Smart Screens have been installed in the Jacaranda Room, Stacey’s Office and the Lily Pily room (Linda’s old office). This is amazing technology and is helping us to reduce the amount of printed papers we need for meetings/workshops. Smart screens allow remote users, locally or via the internet, to view and draw onto the whiteboard in real time. To use this function users must first install the ‘Smart Kapp’ application from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. The application is free. A mobile tablet device with a stylus would be perfect for this application.

Tony has downloaded some handy videos to help you use the screens and placed them on the G Drive G:\Transport OD\Technology\smartboards\. There are also several user guides in the same location.

OD Hot Desks at Lee Street

There has been a bit of a re-shuffle at Lee Street and you may have noticed our hot desks have moved. To help you find them when you next need to work at Lee Street, an updated map is attached.

Reminder - EOI for OD Associate – NSW TrainLink

Reminder that Lindsay has put out an EOI for an OD Associate – closes today so don’t forget to submit if you are interested.

Have a great week.

Linda
