Keeping you in the OD Loop Issue #45
Hi everyone
My turn for the Loop this week. It was a very light on week for OD meetings last week so am hoping I can keep this short and sweet.
Next Phase of OD Team Development
As you may be aware, we have commenced our next phase in the development of our teams and leaders within OD.
As a number of the Directors participated in the next workshop last Wednesday, we did not have our usual OD Leadership meeting.
Over the next few months, Resource Advisory are working with approx. 40 of our staff, including our Directors, Team Leaders and some team members who need to be working across teams within OD. This wider team will help us to understand barriers and opportunities by bringing diverse perspectives to our learning experience.
As a team, the outcomes we are committed to achieving include:
- Adopting common language that supports the way we coordinate our activities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
- Stronger capability and competence to delegate tasks through effective requests.
- Stronger capability in conversations for appreciation and accountability dialogues.
- More effective commitment-making and communication across all of OD.
Watch this space for more updates on the process in the coming months.
Reminder – update your Contact details in the Phone Guide
- We still have a large number of people who don’t have up to date contact information in Outlook/the Phone Guide.

Congratulations
Janelle Dilger has recently started in the position of Transformation & Change Lead (whilst Danae Catterall is enjoying her maternity leave) in the Program Management Services team.
Her most recent experience has been within TfNSW, leading the delivery of Communications Services for the Transport Equip and Making IT Working For You programs. Janelle will be working closely with the Leadership & Corporate team to align and further develop how we support change capability and the delivery of change services. Janelle is sitting in Danae’s desk next to Sam Wood so make sure you say hi.
Internal Communications team move – joining up internal and external communications
As you would have seen in Paul’s email late last week and Elizabeth’s recent blog, from Tuesday 1 August, TfNSW’s external and internal communications functions will be joined. Internal Communications will move into the Public Affairs and Engagement branch within the Customer Services Division. There, Cary Bignell will lead both the Corporate Communications and Internal Communications teams as Director of Corporate Communications. Congratulations Cary!
This is a terrific example of getting the right people in the right places. This is what the PaCS Review is all about. It doesn’t just mean changes for PaCS, it’s getting the right outcomes for the cluster.
The majority of staff are not impacted by this change and the Internal Communications team will move as is to their new division. However, the event management support provided by Senior IC Officer (events) Catherine Labbate will remain in OD, reporting to Linda Harvey and she will continue to support us in delivering great events for Transport.
We thank the Internal Communications team for their excellent work and support for the Transport cluster. While the function may be leaving OD, the team will continue together with us, and the very strong relationships that have been formed will most definitely remain as we deliver on Transport’s strategic priorities together.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
