Transport Training Centre Workspace - Update 1

Collaboration Areas / Meeting Rooms: High demand for meeting rooms makes it difficult to book a room. Perceived lack of available desks, means meeting rooms are being used for hot desking. Look and feel of the employee workspaces are dated, with limited options for collaboration spaces, particularly for staff travelling from Lee St or agencies.

Technology: Current technology within TTC is dated and doesn’t promote a flexible way of working. Employees are unable to use the display screens straight from their laptops in meeting rooms which incurs lots of printing/wasted paper.

Networks: Employees such as Business Partners from agencies other than TfNSW are unable to connect remotely to their networks, nor are contractors or external training facilitators able to connect to the internet.

A Great Place to Work initiative is in the process of refurbishing some of the areas at Petersham in response to your feedback

Collaboration Areas / Meeting Rooms: Two new meeting rooms are being added with a new look and feel on the first floor. A new Touchdown area is being created next to the Auditorium with a mixture of seating / desk / collaboration options. The Jacaranda and Eucalyptus Rooms are being refurbished along with White Board paint being added in a number of rooms to support collaborative working.

Technology: New Smart screens are being installed in three rooms enabling you to plug & play from your laptop, with interactive white board functionality that you can share with your colleagues on their devices. Control your presentation directly from the screen. Check out these YouTube videos for a sneak preview:

Networks: An upgrade to the Wifi will take place in the spring, providing access to our colleagues across the TfNSW agencies and external contractors. Also Follow Me Printing has been activated at Petersham enabling staff working remotely to more easily print at Petersham

The room refurbishment works will start on Friday 18 August and take a couple of weeks to complete. You will see new furniture in a number of areas from Monday 21 August
