Working as one team to open Sydney Metro

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and these are pretty special.

It’s been almost two weeks since our game-changing Sydney Metro officially hit the tracks and opened for business.

Howard Collins, Chief Executive of Sydney Trains and Jon Lamonte, Chief Executive of Sydney Metro - from our new Greater Sydney division - celebrated this major milestone together.

The signs are up and our customers now have more travel options to get where they need to go. This is all thanks to some really great collaboration across the Transport Cluster. But the collaboration doesn't stop there. In fact, it’s just the start.

By bringing our Transport for NSW, RMS, Sydney Metro, Sydney Trains and STA teams together in our new Greater Sydney division, we will work even more closely together to make our customers’ door-to-door journeys easier.

We will focus our efforts on making sure our customers can easily switch between all transport modes in Greater Sydney, while positively shaping communities, especially those along our Metro line as we expand the reach of the Metro network and make it available to more of our Sydney customers.
