We want to improve everyone’s experience of work and create a workplace where our people feel safe and supported. We’re rolling out a mental health and wellness program -Staywell on Rail RU OK Day – 11th April.
One in six Australian workers will be experiencing a mental illness. Many others will be experiencing the initial signs of mental illness including insomnia, worry and fatigue (Black Dog Institute).
Early detection of mental health issues followed by appropriate, timely intervention and support can significantly reduce the severity, duration and recurrence of mental health issues and associated disadvantages.
Across TfNSW we are rolling out a Mental Health First Aider program, as part of our new Staywell program, to help people who require support and assistance in mental health issues. Learn more about the role here and apply to become a Mental Health First Aider
Our new Staywell hub will contain a growing amount of resources including links to online information, tips and tools to help you stay well – and if you’re a manager, information and tools to help you support your team. It also links to two e-learning modules on Equip on managing mental health risks at work and how to approach someone you are concerned about:
Everyone has a role to play in creating a mentally healthy workplace – it is a shared responsibility.
