Empowering women to live balanced and successful lives

RMS recently hosted a fantastic event which aimed to arm our female employees with insights, strategies and skills to increase self-awareness, confidence and self-esteem for inclusion and peak performance.

The ‘Power of 8’ event was hosted in conjunction with Work180 – and international jobs network focused on ending workplace discrimination. The

Melinda Bailey, Executive Director, Compliance & Regulatory Services, spoke at the event and shared her experience working in traditionally male-dominated workforces.

She said women often felt pressure to act like ‘one of the boys’ to be successful. Instead, she encouraged young women to seek purposeful careers, back themselves, own their decisions, link in with strong mentors, and to be patient – because careers are marathons, not sprints, and the next opportunity will come.

Power of 8 founder Jéromine Alpe also addressed the audience to discuss empowering female excellence for gender equity in the workplace and techniques to ensure happiness and peak performance.

The Power of 8 helped attendees identify who and what is most important to them and what they needed to focus on in order to move forward in the areas that matter most. Attendees took home action plans to invest in their own personal growth.

The event was well received by all involved who said they enjoyed hearing from Melinda and Jéromine and networking with other professionals.
