Leader Alliance - October 2017

On Thursday 19 October, over 250 senior leaders came together for Leader Alliance at the Exhibition Hall, Australian Technology Park.

Leader Alliance brings the leadership team together to discuss the future of our cluster, leadership behaviours and focus on our people.

The theme of the event was Leading the Future Now. We are transforming transport, planning and delivering for the future – right now. The event was an opportunity to think about our role in leading this change, and particularly how we lead our people into an exciting future.

Session 1: Secretary update

Session 2: Workshop sessions

  • Workshop A: Future Transport - a cognitively diverse approach - led by subject matter experts from the Future Transport team, this workshop took leaders through key concepts including outcome led planning and building cognitively diverse teams.
  • Workshop B: Conversations - led by Duncan Young Consulting, this workshop demonstrated through scenario role plays how leaders can have meaningful and engaging conversations about change with their people.

Session 3: The agency lens

  • Fast talkers - five of our own people shared where they've taken a creative leap, challenged the status quo and created something new.
  • Ken Kanofski, Chief Executive, Roads and Maritime Services - video
  • Agency commitments - representatives from each agency shared how the journey of change will impact them and what commitments they made.
