Hi Everyone,

This week I returned from a fabulous holiday, touring Italy - here's a quick snap of my friend Sue and I in Pompeii .

  • Leadership Meeting

Paul provided us with information from his Executive Group. Future Transport is now launched and Tim Reardon participated in a live stream across the Cluster on Wednesday. There is lots of great information about Future Transport on the Intranet which I would recommend you look into.

Paul also provided insight into some changes taking place around committee and approval structures across Transport. There will be further communication about this in the near future, however, it has no direct impact in the short term on OD.

Linda Harvey reported on the great work the team at Petersham have been doing to land our budget and prepare the allocation of budget to the new six streams across the People and Culture Branch. Linda indicated she will have more detail around this next week.

Stacey shared with us some great diversity resources, and in particular a twitter account entitled Man Who Has it all – highly recommended. If you want to see humour really effectively getting some messages through this is a brilliant example!

The most important discussion we had involved planning for our farewell to the people across OD who have made a huge contribution to our work. There will be farewells this week, and there were farewells last week when the ERP training team bade farewell. Without detailing each person, on behalf of everyone in OD I can’t begin to thank you all enough for your time with us. You have brought talent, capability, laughter and great friendships into the workplace and you will be missed.

  • Future PaCS

Elizabeth Mildwater’s latest blog (2 November) provides direct insight into the People and Culture Reform program that has been occurring over recent months. Marshall Craddock who we know well is leading the Transition program to stand up the new People and Culture area for Elizabeth.

Check out the full blog (PDF) loaded in Document Library - see top right.

Elizabeth is keen to get your feedback and input into this process. Feel free to email any thoughts or ideas you have to PaCSfeedback@transport.nsw.gov.au

  • Senior Service Declaration

All Transport Senior Executive (TSSE) and Transport Service Senior Manager (TSSM) staff are required to submit their Senior Service Declaration via the online declaration portal.

The annual Senior Service Declaration (SSD) process has now commenced. All Transport Service Senior Executive (TSSE) and Transport Service Senior Manager (TSSM) staff are required to submit their Senior Service Declaration via the online declaration portal.

Please note that this is a mandatory process for all Senior Service staff, and even if you have nothing to declare, you will still need to log in to the portal and complete the appropriate section.

Why do I need to make a declaration?
The Public Service Commission’s Code of Conduct and Ethics at section 3.5 obligates Senior Service employees to make such a declaration. The TfNSW Conflicts of Interest policy reflects this obligation at section 2.1.

Please note that your manager will be notified via email if you declare any private interests.

What do I need to do?
If you are a TfNSW employee, go directly to the declaration portal and log in with the username and password that you use every day. TfNSW staff who are not on the Novell network will need to request an account via the NSW Portal before they can use the declaration portal.

Please note you will only have to register for an account once. If you have already registered, please use the username and password you created to access the NSW Portal and submit your declaration.

When are declarations due?
Declarations must be completed by 30 November 2017. Please note that completion rates are reported to the Secretary; non-compliance is audited and reported annually.

Need help?
For more information on completing your declaration, refer to the attached FAQ and Senior Service declaration register user guide.
