Hi all

Welcome to issue #52 of the loop…

R U OK?

R U OK? Day is an annual day in September (the second Thursday) dedicated to remind people to ask family, friends and colleagues the question, "R U OK?"

Connecting regularly and meaningfully is one thing everyone can do to make a difference to anyone who might be struggling. At Transport, and within OD, we want you all to get behind R U OK? Not for one day, but as the way we connect and look out for each other.

Take a moment after reading this Loop to ask a colleague, friend or family member that may have come to mind, if they’re ok? A simple chat can transform someone!

OD All in – Repurposing 27th September

We have repurposed the time set aside for the OD All in, scheduled for the 27th September, to encourage collaborative planning at a team level. Your Director will be advising on your team specific activity.

We will still come together for a morning tea, however, to meet with our coaches (Tony and Paula) from Resource Advisory. Tony and Paula will spend about an hour with us to share and reflect on the work they have been doing within OD and the way forward.

Soul Machines

Exciting news! On Sep 26 at 10am we are hosting the demonstration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Soul Machines. Soul Machines is a ground-breaking high tech company of AI researchers, neuroscientists, psychologists, artists and innovative thinkers; re-imagining what is possible in Human Computing.

We bring technology to life by creating incredibly life-like, emotionally responsive Digital Humans with personality and character that allow machines to talk to us literally face-to-face! Their vision is to humanize computing to better humanity.

Great news from the RSPCA

For those who attended the RSPCA morning tea fundraiser, you’ll remember Jess and Skye (pictured) were looking for a home. Jess and Skye were adopted by a lovely young couple early this week. We are thrilled to hear they have found their “fur-ever” home.

Petersham WiFi Update

From this Sunday at 4pm the installation of the new Sydney Trains / RMS/ TFNSW Wi-Fi will begin at Petersham. The workers will be starting each day at about 4pm and will be here until about 1am. The days are Sunday 17th , Monday 18th , Tuesday 19 and contingency days of Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21. This installation will not affect anyone’s computer system, workstation or printing.

On level 1 there will be a new access point installed in room 5 and another at the western end near the Bluegum Room. All other installs will be on the ground floor mostly in class rooms, CCTV Room and the meal room. Wi-Fi will hopefully be operational in the first week of October.

Who are you going to recognise for their outstanding achievements?

Nominations for the TfNSW Agency Awards are open now for individuals and teams in TfNSW who have achieved outstanding results this year and lived our Transport Values. Get nominating!

Please also help us promote the Awards by sharing with your networks across the TfNSW divisions and encouraging them to nominate too.

Staying Connected Film Shoot

Last Saturday saw the film shoot for the Staying Connected - Working Flexibly films.

Following the success of the Jenny & Pete short film series on the People Leader Site, Pete is back and getting his head around organising rooms for expressing and a fridge for storing breast milk! A total must see. Hilarious. Coming to a screen near you very soon...

A big thank you to the team and 'Extras' for spending their Saturday on the shoot.

  • Mandy Makhlouf
  • David Monti
  • Stacey Edmonds
  • Manal Thomas
  • Alina Rubas
  • Mimi Tan
  • Wayne Wheatley

Thanks all

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Steph
