Coughing and spitting incidents

Protecting all aspects of the health and safety of our people and our customers is always our number one priority. The $5,000 fine for incidents of spitting and coughing on essential workers is there to protect our frontline staff.

If you’re a frontline manager, make sure your people know that anyone caught spitting or coughing on them will be fined $5,000 and that they should speak up if they experience this.

If this happens in your team, you are responsible for reporting it through your normal incident report process as well as reporting it to the COVID-19 Taskforce team using this reporting form.
