Friday 11 September 2020 – Evolving Transport News

In every edition you will hear news and key updates from across the 13 workstreams that make up our program of transformation. You can also stay up-to-date on the latest roadmaps and workstream outputs from each of the workstream pages.

Update on corporate functions

As we are now looking at the best way to deliver our corporate functions across TfNSW, Sydney Trains, and NSW TrainLink the organisational design approach for these functions will look quite different to what other branches are experiencing as part of Evolving Transport.

A new program team has been established to ensure the design process and model for service delivery meet the needs of all parts of Transport.

Our leaders are now working through a detailed plan and further information is being shared with relevant staff over the next couple of weeks.

Your bright ideas can shape the future of Transport

The Financial Sustainability (FS) Workstream is about being smarter with taxpayers’ money and becoming more financially sustainable as a business. One of the ways we are doing this is by creating an innovation challenge which will harness and build on ideas from our people – it’s called Transport Bright Ideas.

Transport Bright Ideas is made up of three parts: the Small Steps program, FS Innovation and Optimisation Fund, and Pitch to the Panel. There are some differences in how each of these work, but they’re all about finding and supporting ways to do things better and more efficiently.

Check out https://brightideas.transport.nsw.gov.au and submit your bright idea before Friday 2 October.

We’re working differently – Evolving Transport milestones delivered

We’re making good progress across our 13 workstreams. Over the coming weeks and months we’ll see even more milestones completed as workstreams begin to implement and embed new ways of working into our everyday business.

A huge shout-out to the Capital Projects team who have delivered great results as part of their work to redefine how we will manage major projects from planning to delivery. We’ll keep you up-to-date on how they are progressing in implementing these changes over the coming months. Check out the Capital Project Workstream page for the details.
