Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback on the proposed additional COVIDSafe measures and implementation framework for Transport. We received over 4500 pieces of feedback from across Transport and are reviewing these before any decisions are made.
What are we focusing on?
Throughout the pandemic we’ve continually sought to find and use measures available to help keep ourselves, our customers and the community safe. Green dots, mandatory mask wearing, marshalling teams and working from home wherever possible have all been introduced as part of this approach.
As our state begins to open and restrictions ease as part of the roadmap to freedom, we’re looking at what other COVIDSafe measures are available to us and, if implemented, how that might happen.
This includes considering a requirement for some or all of us at Transport to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and in some instances, an additional measure of implementing health surveillance testing to detect anyone positive with COVID-19.
Consultation was open 13 to 25 October and everyone at Transport was invited to have their say on the proposal to introduce additional measures, as outlined in the proposed policy.
What happens next?
We’re currently working rapidly to review and consider all feedback to ensure we make informed decisions about next steps. Following that, we expect to announce the determination and any further steps required in November.
