Today’s 2018-19 NSW State Budget announcement is hugely significant for communities and customers across the state - as well as for everyone who works here at Transport.
We know that improving transport is a priority for the people of NSW and they want us to address congestion, improve safety and provide them with more choice in how they get around.
This new commitment will enable us to do that with $14.4 billion going towards public transport and infrastructure as well as an additional $3 billion to start building the Sydney Metro West project.
Over the next four years, a further $2.6 billion will go towards Western Sydney roads while Stage 1 of the F6 extension will receive $1.2 billion.
There was also $600 million set aside to enable us to make further road safety improvements that will help us to reduce deaths and serious injuries as we work towards our goal of zero lives lost.
